The soldiers were seat- I ed in rows immediately in front of I the stand, and made an inspiring ap- I pearance with their bronzed faces and I neat uniforms. After singing by the choir and the I opening prayer, Dr. J. W. Bergstrom I delivered the memorial address, in a I smooth flow of well-chosen words and I figures of speech, punctuated by sen- 1 timents in verse, comprising a very I pleasant and satisfying address. 1 The Doctor was followed by Elder j I los. II Armstrong, who in a ringing I and enthusiastic patriotic declamation I praised the deeds of the heroes, and I commended tne effort of the previous I peakcr. I A beautiful violin solo was rend- I ered by Prof. H. P. Johnson.
