Show Ccdnr City Normals Want Track Meet The University preps met yestcrdry afternoon and perfected a permanent organization. "Cuddy" Kussell was elected manager and L. Clayton captain. cap-tain. Tho following were elected members mem-bers of tho advisory board: O. C. Thompson, Allan Spencer and L. Clay' ton. This committco will assist the captain and manager In supervising and outlining the season's work. All challenges will be referred to them. Prof. Byron Cummlngs, who has just lately returned from Cedar City, was present at the meeting and presented a challenge from the Hranch Normal school. The preps accepted the challenge, chal-lenge, but will endeavor to change some of the special conditions which the southerners have wisely tacked on. The Cedar City management proposes to eliminate from tho meet nil -.. i ; distance races. They also propose some other chibges, such as cutting tho 100-yard 100-yard event down to a 30 yard sprint. It looks as though the southerners had studied the prep men and made these stipulations with a view of keeping out all the prep's strongest men. The preps have some of the best Jong distance runners at tho school and they aro not inclined to favor any btlpuhitlons which deprive their being entered. These minor details will, without doubt, be settled audlhe two teams will clash on the 15th of this mouth. This is likely to become an annual event und one which both schools will look forward for-ward to witli a great deal of Interest. It will be a means of uniting tho Cedar school more closely to the University, and will alsolwrvc as an extra incentive incent-ive inducingjthe Cedar athletes to at-tend at-tend tho Uniyersity.-S. L.
