Show H BAD SPELLBRS AND SCRIBBLERS. H There is truth in the following H from the Logan Republican: H If there are poor spellers among H those reputed to be our educated H boys and girls and even most (lis- H tingulshed instructors, it is noc less H true that there arc some of the most abominable and careless scribblers H among these also. There arc those H whom no amount of instruction and H 'careful attention would convert into H ISpencerian artists, but there is no H 'excuse for the carelessness that H leaves the "i" undotted, the "t" un- H 'crossed, makes an "a" out of "o" H and vice versa, and docs those many H other things careless writers seem to H take special delight in doing. Stu- H dents in all the schools can well af- H fo'cd to pay careful attention to H Uieir writing and spelling, for no H other one thing indicates more clear- H ly the intelligence and disposition of H the average person. It cannot be H denied that there are many intelligent H people who do not write well, neither H -do they spell correctly, and many , make a fair success witTi but meagre H knowledge along these lines, but these are the exception.
