Mr. and Mrs. Carl Worthen exchanged nuptial vows Saturday evening in the Cedar Stake House. The lovely bride is the former Ruth Ann Larson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Larson, former residents and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Worthen, Las Vegas. Ruth Ann Larson Tells August Vows Miss Ruth Ann Larson and Carl Worthen were united in marriage mar-riage in Cedar City on Saturday evening at a seven o'clock ceremony cere-mony at the new stake house. Officiating Of-ficiating at the lovely ceremony was Oscar Hulet. Present at the wedding were relatives' and close friends of the couple. Ann is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Larson of Las Vegas, former Cedar City resident of 17 years, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Worthen of Las Vegas. A reception followed the wedding wed-ding ceremony given by the parents par-ents of the bride at which many friends of the couple were present pres-ent to wish them well. The bride was radiant In an original gown of chantilly lace fashioned with a neckline of pointed lace insertions, long sleeves pointed at the wrists, a tight bodice with a full over-skirt over-skirt of lace falling lower at the back into a short train. Showing under the lace overskirt were tiers of tulle over a heavy satin full underskirt. The gown was fjoor length topped with a veil cascading cas-cading fingertip length from a small cap. Her flowers were a nosegay of an orchid surrounded by red roses. Best man for the wedding was the groom's brother. Maid of honor was Wynn Worthen, Wor-then, sister of the groom, who wore blue, and bridesmaids were Ann Marie Hirs'chi in orchid, Gaylen Stapley in green, and Nancy Lee Anderson of Las Vegas, Ve-gas, who wore pink. All attendants attend-ants wore gowns of ballerina length and carried nosegays com-plimenting com-plimenting the cojors of their diesses. The guest book was taken care of by John Larson. John Larson. Hostesses' were Esther Jones and Lillian Chatterley. Helping in the kitchen were Leta Cowley, Zoe Ellen Benson and Mrs. Bentley. Serving were Christine Corry, Pat Pace and Nellene Perry. The newlyweds are honeymooning honey-mooning in northern Utah. They plan to make their home in Salt Lake City where Mr. Worthen wiU attend the University of Utah. Present for the wedding festivities festi-vities were the bride's grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sorens'on of Portland, Ore. Mr. Larson was former band instructor at Cedar High School and is at present occupying the same position at Las Vegas High. Mrs. Larson is teaching in the elementary school In Las Vegas. . i |
