Mr. and Mrs. O'Leary Jones were wed Saturday, August 27 in the St. George LDS Temple. The bride is the former Elizabeth Ann Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thomas of Circleville. O'Leary is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Jones. Miss Joan Lamoreaux Wed in Double Ring Rites By Nora Lund Miss Joan Lamoreaux became Mrs. Ronald Mortensen in a double dou-ble ring ceremony performed Saturday Sat-urday evening Aug. 27, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamoreaux. Bishop Victor R. Robinson officiated at the marriage mar-riage before a group of family members and close friends. The bride was lovely in her wedding dress of taffeta and lace of her own make. She wore a fingertip Jenth veil of silk net that cascaded from a lace bonnet. The bride's bouquet was of red roses. The bridal party retired to the school auditorium for the reception, recep-tion, in the receiving line with the newlyweds were, Delores Thornton as maid of honor; Jackie Jack-ie Ward, Margaret, Barton and Mary Etta Stubbs, bridesmaids, all gowned in pastel formals, carrying car-rying bouquets of harmonizing colors. Nina Lamoreaux was junior jun-ior bridesmaid and Gay Lynn Benson was flower girl. Val Holy-oak Holy-oak and Scott Haycock attended the groom. Also to greet the guests were the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamoreaux and Mr. and Mrs. Ward Mortensen. Gifts were in charge of Mrs. Nona Harris and Mrs. Gaytha Benson. T. A. Robinson, grandfather of the bride was master of ceremonies ceremon-ies conducting the fojlowing program: pro-gram: A ladies trio, Elna and Ra-mona Ra-mona Stubs and Shirley Evans, accompanied by Mrs. Ward Mortensen; Mor-tensen; Duane Lamoreaux played an occordion solo; Verl Tayjor sang a vocal solo, with Ramona Stubs accompanying; Hazel Jean Robinson played a saxophone solo, with Wilma Lamoreaux at the piano. Mina and LaRae Lamoreaux Lam-oreaux gave a tap dance number num-ber and readings were given by Jean Hendrickson and Ruth Boardman. Doris McBride and Merna Halterman entertained with a bit of comic nonsense. Prayers were by J. Lowe Barton and Scott Mitchell. The Spencer orchestra of Cedar City furnished the music for the dancing fallowing the program. Refreshments were served by a large group of relatives' from Par-agonah, Par-agonah, Parowan, Summit and Cedar City. The young couple left' immediately immed-iately for a honeymoon trip. |
