Show Former Resident Dies After Stroke In Seattle Hospital Funeral services for Carlisle Benson Hoyle, 57, of Seattle, Wash, and a former resident of Parowan, will be held Friday afternoon, Oct. 15. They will be held in the Third Ward chapel at 2 o'clock with Bishop Howard M. Adams, brother-in-law of the deceased de-ceased conducting, and burial will be made after military rites, in the Parowan city cemetery. Mr. Hoyle died last Friday at a Seattle hospital following a stroke. He had suffered a slight stroke two years ago, but had apparently recovered and was at his work when the second one hit him. Mr. Hoyle was born in Parowan, Paro-wan, Nov. 2, 1897, a son of Ben and Elizabeth Benson Hoyle, and spent his early life here. He at tended both high school and college col-lege at Brigham Young University, Univer-sity, and was a veteran of World War I. He was married on Nov. 25, 1922 to Miss Tearl Rose and they resided here for a short time after, af-ter, then moved to Susanville, Calif. From there he moved to Klamath Falls, Ore., then to Spokane, Spo-kane, Wash, where he was store manager for Stone Stores, a grocery gro-cery chain. He then moved to Portland to manage stores for the same company. He moved to 'Seattle to become buyer for the iTreadwell Stores;, another big j chain group, in 193G, and has re-! re-! sided there since. Surviving are his widow, of jSealtlc, one son, Donald C. and a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hoyle, both of Seattle; one grandson, la half brother, Gene Hoyle, Salt I Lake City, and a half-sister, Mrs. Ida May Page, California. |
