Show Funeral Held For Aged Prowan Lady Funeral serlces were held in Parowan Par-owan Thursday afternoon for Sarah ELzabeth Pendleton Connell, 92-yeav old resident of Parowan, who died September 27th.. following a lonj Illness incident to age. Mrs. Connell was born at Kanes-vllle. Kanes-vllle. Iowa, on September 2, 1850, i daughter of Dr. Calvin Crane and Sally Ann Newberry Pendleton. With her parents she crossed the plains when two years old, coming to Parowan Par-owan to make her home. With the exception of five years spent in Beaver and the two years in Iowti. she has spent her entire life in Parowan and 69 years of it in th? family home where she passed a-way. a-way. She was married to James Connell. Con-nell. an L. D. S. convert from Glasgow. Glas-gow. Scotland, October 4, 18C9 in th? Endowment House In Salt Lake City. Ten children were born to them with eight of them still livin ;. Her husband died in 1912. She was an expert weaver and gardener and spent much time in her garden up until the last year or two. Her surviving children are Mrs. S. A. Matheson, Calvin C, and Jas. N. Connell of Parowan; Mrs. William Wil-liam J. Matheson of Duncan, Arizona; Ari-zona; Mrs. George L. Luke of Moscow, Mos-cow, Idaho; Wm. Connell of Provo; Joseph W. Connell of Ogden and Mrs. R. W. Jones of Milford. She is also survived by 3J grandchildren; one brother, Wm. W. Pendleton of Parowan; one half brother, Mane j Pendleton and a half sister. Delia J Pendeton of Salt Lake City. |
