Show ' Aged Kane County Lady Dies At ' Home in Orderville ' Mrs. Kezia Ann Carroll E.v):in. 85, early pior.eer and oldest woman of Orderville, died at her home on October 2nd., and funeral su vices were held the following Monday. Mrs. Esplin was born In Figvj December 13, 1857, daughter of Charles Negus and Kezia Gilea j Carroll. In the fall of 1859 they moved to Heber City where thev lived until May 1887 when they ' moved to Orderville and Joined the United Order. She was married to Henry Webster Esplin in the St. George temple, September 13, 1878. She was secretary of the first mutual mu-tual organized in Heber City, and was secretary and later president of the mutual here. She worked in the Primary for many years as couaselor and president, being released re-leased because of heart trouble. She was active in dramatics under the direction of her father in Heber City and Orderville and also directed direc-ted many plays. She has been confined con-fined to her home for some time with heart trouble, but was able until recently to do handwork. She is survived by her husband. Henry W. Esplin, and twelve sons and daughters, Homer W. Esplin, and Charles H. Esplin, Cedar City; Lena E. Woodbury, Altedena. California; Cali-fornia; Verda E. Adams, Parowan; Lucy E. Jones, Cedar City; Evelyn E. Uichurdson, Salt Lake City; Bessie E. Brooksby, Geneva E Chamberlain, Emily E. Adair, Maggie Mag-gie Esplin and Surah E. Cox, all of Orderville, and the following brothers broth-ers and sisters: Charles W. Carroll, of California; George Carroll, Pro-vo; Pro-vo; Emma S. Hlgbee and Julia Chamberlain, Cedar City; Amelia Heaton, Hurricane; Lavlna Heaton, Jane C. Heaton, Eleanor Boldner, Amy C. Stark, Edward Carroll and F. G. Carroll, all of Orderville. She has 40 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. |
