Show Phi Sigma Alpha observes birthday Members of the Phi Sigma Alpha sorority celebrated their 9th anniversary at the "Homespun" "Home-spun" in Leeds on September 19. A toast to friendship was given by Ora Smith; one to wisdom was given by Mari-lee Mari-lee Connell; and Afton Hart-man Hart-man read a toast to courage which had been prepared by Florence Cardon. President Mamie Eck gave a dream for the future of Phi Sigma Alpha. Afton Hartman led the group in repeating the 9th Founder's Day Pledge after lighting three blue candles while reciting, "Phi Sigma Alpha Friendship, Wisdom, Courage". Mrs. Eulah Gardner and Mrs. Marva Heppler read a tribute and poem respectively by H. R. Fenstermacher. managing man-aging director of Phi Sigma Alpha. Both selections were in honor of Walter W.
