JOHN REED THORNTON Bonnie May Batt Weds in Home Ceremonny Miss Bonnie May Batt became the bride of Jonn Reed Thorn-1 ton ;n a wedding ceremony which J took place at the home of the1 bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Decker Friday evening, Aug. 18. Officiating in the rites was Pres. Howard D. Knight in the presence of immediate members of the two families. Mr. Thornton is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thornton Thorn-ton of Paragonah. A reception held at the First-Second First-Second Ward recreation hall honored hon-ored the young couple. For the I reception the bride wore a full-length gown of white bridal satin with lace panels down the front and back. Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion was caught to a crown of peals and lace. Miss Donna Batt was maid of honor with Mrs. Linda Batt, Mrs. Brenda Lamoreaux, Mrs. Omah Lee Maxwell as bridesmaids. They were dressed alike in brown brocaded sheaths and matching accessories. Glenda Stanworth was Junior bridesmaid and Jan Orton was flower girl. Robin Lamoreaux stood as best man and Alan Stones was usher. At the gift book were Robert Reeves and Linda Carlson. In charge of the serving table were Mrs. Bert Felstead, Mrs. Leah Bergstrom and Mrs. Scott Orton, and serving were Penny Matheson, Mathe-son, Linda Gae Hulet. Dean Rog-erson Rog-erson and Shirley Wheatley. At the gift tables were Mrs. Lawana Stanworth, Mrs. Jay Orton and Mrs. Delores Robinson. Gift bearers bear-ers were Carolyn Orton. Gloria Orton and David Robinson. D. A. Stones was master of cer-iemonies cer-iemonies for a program given dur-i dur-i Ing the evening. Lillis Johnson jfurnished organ rmisic preceding the program, and she and Mr. Johnson and Rod Lister furnished furnish-ed music for the dancing following. fol-lowing. Following the reception the newlyweds honeymooned at the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon and are now making mak-ing their home in Parowan. |
