Show Institute Ceremony Unite? Popular B.A.C. Students In Marriage Mr. and Mrs. Vernon A. Jones announce the marriage of their daughter, Vernetta to Ray E. Sabin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Sabin, on Tuesday, August 19. President David I Sargent performed the marriage ceremony at the Cedar City LDS Institute. The bride wore a while airline dress which had a graceful train, her fingertip veil was also made of the airline material. The maid of of honor, Miss Phyllis Sabin, sister of the groom, of Kelso, Washing, ton, wore blue, the four bridesmaids wore pink. The bridesmaids were Marjorle Sabin, sister of the groom, Mary Jarp CarOenlsen, Richfield; Carolyn Watson, Craig, Colorado, and Lael Merryweather, Cedar City. Little Lavenda Jones, sister of the bride was flower girl, and Leon Jones, brother, was ring bearer. Wlllard Armstrong served the groom as best man while Kendall Jones anJd Craig Jones acted as ushers. Mrs. Lehi Jones played the wedding wed-ding march, and Edward A. Sand-gren Sand-gren sang two vocal solos preceding the ceremony. Following the wedding, a recep-tlon.dance recep-tlon.dance honioring the young couple cou-ple was given In the Cedar Second ward recreation hall. During the evening a program was given consisting con-sisting of a trio by Joan Jones, Janice Jan-ice Prothero, Evelyn Jones accompanied accom-panied by Mary Jane Seaman, mus. leal numbers by the Master Singers quartet, and a reading by Jackie Leigh. Assisting at the reception were: Jackie Leigh, Iris Spencer, and Dorothy Dor-othy Secrist In the gift room; Mrs. William Merryweather, Mrs. C. O. Carstensen, Richfield; Mrs. Theon Watson, and Mrs. Stella Orimshaw, refreshments, and Janet Jones, register. Following a wedding trip to California Cali-fornia Mr. and Mrs. ffabln will make their home In Cedar City, where both will attend the Branch Agricultural college. Mr. Sabin was a popular member of the Bronco football squad last season. He was graduated from the PortervUle, California high school before entering the Navy, where he served two years before coming to Cedar City. Mrs. Sabin graduated from the Cedar City high school, and was a student at the B A O last year |
