Show Funeral services held Friday for Parowan businessman A- Joseph C , , , T u.. J then rer.dered a vocal solo and the invocation was offered by Jesse Guymon. A double mixed quartet, then offered a number, consisting of Veda and Watson Adams, Darl' O. and Alice Mitchell, Verl Taylor, Robert Rowley, Ramona Stubbs, Frankie Lue Burton and accompanied by Itha Mor-tensen. Mor-tensen. Eldon Schmutz and Karl O. Mitchell were the speakers and remarks were given by Bp. Ahlborn. . ' The benediction was offered by Silas Topham and the grave was dedicated in the Parowan City Cemetery by Saunders M. Clark. Pallbsarers were Mac Clark, Kenyon Clark, Bruce Forsyth, David Joseph, Mark Joseph, and Steven Hatch. Flower ladies were Mildred VanAusdal, Leon-a Leon-a Dalton, Norma Burton, Itha Mortenspn, Lorna Mitchell, Vera Decker, Golda Guymon, and Mary Topham. ARTHUR LeROY JOSEPH Funeral services for Arthur LeRoy Joseph, age 83, were held Friday, Oct. 5, at 2:00 p.m. in the Parowan Third Ward Chapel under the direction of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. Mortu-ary. Mr. Joseph, a native of Southern South-ern Utah his entire life, was born April 25, 1890 in Adams-ville, Adams-ville, Beaver County, to John T. Joseph and Annie Gunn. He married Florence Evelyn Mars-den Mars-den August 11, 1911 in Parowan. Paro-wan. This marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Mr. Joseph was an active LDS member serving as a Sunday Sun-day School Superintendent in the Parowan East Ward, former member of the Parowan Stake Hi -h Csuncil, as a member of the Parowan 3rd Ward High Priests Quorum, and also Mr. Joseph and his wife served a mission in Canada. Mr. Joseph has baen active as a community leader. He served ser-ved as Parowan City Mayor in 1939 for two terms; Parowan City Councilman, past director in the Bank of Southern Utah in Cedar City, past cashier of the Bank of Iron County in Parowan and as a director in the State Bank in Cedar City. Mr. Joseph, a life time merchant mer-chant in Parowan, retired in 1W6 with 28 years service. He was a major consultant until the time of his death, having turned the store over to his son Jo'in Howard Joseph. Mr. Joseph is survived by his wife, three daughters and two sons; Mrs. Lee H. (Claudia) F-Tsyth. Mrs. S. M. (Kathleen) Clark, both of Cedar City; Mrs. David (Mary Lue) Hatch, Salt Lake City; John Howard and Kenneth M. Joseph, both of Parowan. Mr. Joseph had 19 grandchildren and 30 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted by Bishop Emst S. Ahlborn and the prelude and postlude music wag played by Irene Hyatt H;ward Knight |
