Show James Prince succumbs; services held James Irving Prince, age 74 of New Harmony died Sept. 26, 1974 at the Valley View Medical Center of natural causes. He was born Nov. 26, 1899 in New Harmony Har-mony to George Francis and Nancy Elizabeth Pace. Prince. Married Mary Edna Russell June 6, 1922 in the St. George Temple. She passed away Dec. 17, 1972. Mr. Prince was a farmer and employee of the railroad. He was a past member of the New Harmony Ward Bishopric and also president of the Elders Quorum. He is survived by two sons: Merl Princel, Davis, Calif.; Darrell Prince, Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters: Mrs. Phildon (Lola) DeMille, Henderson, Hen-derson, Nev.; Mrs. Mitchell (Maureen) Lunt, Cedar City; 15 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; three brothers: George Evelyn Prince, Salt Lake City; Marion F. Prince, New Harmony : Pratt P. Prince, Henderson, Nev.; two sisters: Mrs. Dee E. (Hazel) Stapley, Beaver,; Mrs. Elmer B. (Florence) Quist, San Matel, Calif. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 30 at the New Harmony LDS Ward Chapel. Family prayer was offered by Merl Prince, and Marilyn Prince played the prelude, postlude music. Bishop Cannon Huntsman conducted the services with Sheldon Grant giving the Invocation. In-vocation. The New Harmony ladies Chorus sang "I know that my Redeemer Lives", followed by talks by Very Kelsey and Tom I'earce. Larry Jones, Elmer Cox, Ralph Hafen and Elton Stapley sang a melody of "Jesus My Savior True", "I Need Thee Every Hour", and "Though Deepening Trial", and they were accompanied by Hal Campbell. The next speaker was Gerald Prince and he was followed by a vocal solo "God is Ever Beside Me", by Ralph Hafen accompanied ac-companied by Evelyn Jones. Remarks were given by Bishop Cannon Huntsman with Dean Hall giving the benediction and Marion F. Prince dedicating the grave. Pallbearers were grandsons of Mr. Prince and the New Harmony Har-mony Ward Relief Society arranged the flowers. Interment was in the New Harmony Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. |
