Show Warren W. Sawyer Accorded Final Rites Sunday Funeral services were held at the County Rest Home Sunday Sun-day at 4 p. m. for Warren Wesley Wes-ley Sawyer, 79, well known race horse owner, who has been a resident res-ident at the rest home for the past year and a half. He came to the rest home from Millard County in November, 1954. Mr. Sawyer has been a familiar famil-iar figure at race tracks in the southern Utah area for many years, and was owner of the race horse "Nojoque" who used to run regularly around the southern Utah racing circuit. Mr. Sawyer died at the rest home Friday of causes incident to age. The deceased was born in Kansas and lived there and in Colorado before coming to Utah where he worked with livestock for local sheepmen. He Is survived sur-vived by a brother Royal Sawyer, who has been here with him for the past several months, and a sister, Bess Baggs, living in California. The funeral services were conducted con-ducted by Bishop Howard M. Adams of the Third Ward. Th speakers at the services were Ancll J. Adams and Jess W. Guy. mon. The opening prayer was offered of-fered by Randall Adams, the I closing one by John W. Bentley i and the grave In the Parowan cemetery was dedicated by Har-rell Har-rell Dalton. The opening and closings songs. "I'll Walk with God," and! "Abide with Me." respectively, were by Ramona and Final Stufobs with Itha Mortensen at1 the piano. The third musical number was a solo, "Home on the Rang"" by Karl Mitchell who accompanied himself on th-: guitar. |
