Show Lovina S.Jones Dies at Home Of Son in Cedar ( LOVIN1A SWAPP JONES Lovlnla Swapp Jones, 77, 1406 Michigan Ave., Salt Lake City, died Tuesday, June 30 at the home of her son, Bishop Jlomer Jones of Cedar City. A former resident of Cedar City Ci-ty and wife of Randall L. Jones (deceased), Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 3, 1881 In Glendale, Utah, a daughter of James and Margaret Mar-garet Brinkerhoff Swapp. She studied nursing In Salt Lake City and after graduating practiced nursing at the first Cedar City hospital where she served as head nurse. She married Randall L. Jones Dec. 26, 1904 in the St George Temple and they had six children, chil-dren, J. Reed Jones, Helen Jones and Wayne. K. Jones, all deceased; deceas-ed; Bishop Homer S. Jor.cs of Cedar City; R. Karl Jones, Provo, and President Lewis H. Jones of Bellflower, Calif., president of Norwalk Stake. . . For many years Mrs. Jones had the resionsiblllty of the family as Mr. Jones' work took him away from home a good part of the time, but she always had time to render a helping hand to those In need, especially where there was sickness. Survivors besides the three sons are 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and four sister.: Mrs. Viola Beams, Salt La '.e City: Donald Swapp, George Swapp, Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Cram, Mrs. Elizabeth Ford, all of Kanab, and Mrs. Lole Little Lit-tle of Yuklpa,, Calif. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m. In the Cedar First-Fifth Ward chapel. Friends may call at the Southern South-ern Utah Mortuary Thursday evening and Friday prior to services. ser-vices. Interment will be in the Cedar City cemetery. |
