Show Last Rites Held This Afternoon For Mathew Batty, 76 Mathew Newton Batty, 76, of Kanarra died at the hospital in Cedar City Tuesday following a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted in the Kanarra ward chapel this afternoon and burial will be made in the To-querville To-querville cemetery. Mr. Batty was born in Toquer-vllle, Toquer-vllle, August 18, 1873, a son of John and Mary Ann Duffin Batty. He married Olive Hammond in the St. George LDS temple, in 1S90. She died in 1918. In 1925 he married Eliza Ann Davis in the St. George tempre. He resided resid-ed in Kanarra since 1925 and engaged en-gaged in farming most of his life. He is survived by his widow of Kanarra; eight sons and daughters. daugh-ters. Raymond and Lester Batty, St. George; Willard, Kanarra; Pen, Roy and Clair Battv. Cedar City; Mrs. Ella Reeves, Kanarra; and Mrs. Lena Johnson, Cedar City; four brothers and sisters, Gorge B. Batty, California; Es-bert Es-bert Batty, Toquerville; Mrs. Alice Bruin, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Minnie Gardner, Panguitch; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-greatgrandchildren. |
