Show Funeral Services Held for Abigail Webster Funeral services for Abigail L. Webster, lifelong resident of Cedar Ce-dar City, were held in the First ward chapel Monday. She died at the Iron County hospital. Friday, Fri-day, July 7, after a lingering illness. Grant Hunter presided at the funeral services. Prayer was .offered .of-fered by C. William Macfarlane. Musical numbers consisted of two songs, "Sweet Flower Land", and "Lead Me Gently Home", by a mixed quartet composed of Alice Williams, Ramola Lee, Ray Cosslelt and Myles Walker. S61os were rendered by Gordon Knight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Knight, and a grandson of the deceased, "I Shall Not Pass This Way Asain", and "Silver Threads Among the Gold", by Ray Coss-!ett. Coss-!ett. Speakers were Parson U. Webster Web-ster and V.'m. R. Palmer. Sentiments Senti-ments from the First ward Relief Re-lief Society were read by Janet Stokes. Benediction was given by Samuel Sam-uel Fife and dedication of the grave was by Samuel F. Leigh. Bell M. Jones was organist for the services and Beth Leigh accompanied ac-companied all musical numbers. Mrs. Webster was born May 2, ,1883 in Cedar City, a daughter of Daniel and Alice Fife Leigh. She had lived in cedar uty ner entire life. She was married June 22, 1907 to Brand Burdett Webster. Web-ster. Her husband died Dec. 27, 1922. An active church worker, Mrs. Webster was a member of the Cedar City First ward. She had been an active worker in the Relief Society and was a visiting teacher at the time of her death. Surviving are two daughters and one son, Mrs. Clifford (Alice) Knight, Cedar City; Mrs. John D. (Belle) Robertson. Ontario, Cali fornia, and Ernest L. Webster, Seattle, Wash. Of a family of 11 brothers and sisters, all over the age of 51, Mrs. Webster was the first t j die. Her brothers and sisters are: Mrs. Francella L. Corry, Mrs. Mary Jane L. Wade, Mrs. Alice L. Jones. Samuel F. (Bud), Daniel Dan-iel F., Kumen F., Peter F., Bernard Ber-nard F., J. T. and Leon Leigh, all of Cedar City. I |
