Show Cedar Man Dies ! Of Strangulation While On Street De Lon Walker, 4(5. local carpenter carpen-ter and one time prominent athlete in Cedar City schools, died suddenly sudden-ly at about 11 p. m. Friday on Main street, the cause of death having been by strangulation during a coufe.iiiig spell. He was found on the Givens' M n-or n-or company used car lot Just a few ten otf the sidewalk, and appeared lo be in choking condition. Sheriff S. C. Lamb and City Physician Dr. L. V. Bro..dueut were summoned but he died before he could be taken to the hospital. i The possibility of foul play was at first feared, and Sheriff Lamb j and County Attorney Durham Morns Mor-ns called an inquest Saturday morning morn-ing before Justice of the Peace Alex H. Rollo. However, a verdict was reached that Mr. Walker had died of natural causes, death having been caused from strangulation during a touching spell. Mr. Walker was born In Cedar City on January 12, 1900, a son of Frank and Kinaline P. Walker, and hail resided here all his life, engaging en-gaging in the carpentry trade after completing his schooling. He married mar-ried Joan Maxwell of Los Angeles on May 27, 182.4. Pleasant; Mrs. Ruth Chinn, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Verda Smith, Los Angeles; Mrs. Emma Gray, Berkeley, California; Mrs. Carroll Browning and Gertrude Walker, Cedar City. Funeral services were conducted in the Third Ward Chapel Tuesday afternoon, with Bishop L'lihu What-cott What-cott presiding. Speakers at the services were B. Glen Kenney, George A. Wood and H. H. Lunt. Invocation was by Samuel Sam-uel B. Jones; benediction by Carlos Jones, and dedication of the grave by Marvin Jones. The musical program was as follows: Preliminary organ music by Frank Van Cott. Opening song, "Thi.t Beautiful Land", by a quartet-composed of Mrs. Ze'lma Lunt, Mrs. Maude Hal-versen. Hal-versen. Ray Cosslett and Myles Walker, accompanied by Mrs. Beth Leigh. Violin s.ilo by Ruy L. Universe'), accompanied by Frank Van Cott.
