Show Funeral Services Conducted for New Harmony Pioneer Funeral services were held in the New Harmony L.DS. church Sunday Sun-day afternoon for Emeretta Angell Kelsey, with Bishop Lyle B. Prince officiating. Speakers at the services Included Includ-ed Orson Hammond, a nephew of ihe deceased, and Henry A. Pace and Albert F. Mathis. Bishop Lyle B. Prince also gave a short talk and read a history of Mrs. Kelsey. Musical numbers were furnished by a quartet from Cedar City composed of Ray Cosslett, Myles Walker, Mrs. Frank Wood and Miss Alice Williams, Wil-liams, accompanied by Mrs. Beth Lieign. ine opening prayer was given by Gottlieb Schmutz and George F. Prince offered the benediction. bene-diction. Mrs. Kelsey was the wife of Or-ren Or-ren Kelsey, also deceased, both pioneers to Utah's Dixie and New Harmony. Although they also pioneered Bluff and San Juan and Wayne county, they spent the major ma-jor portion of their lives In New Harmony where they were always highly respected. Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey are survived sur-vived by two daughters, Josephine Hale of Salt Lake City, and Louise Cox of Falrview, an adopted son, Alvln Kelsey of Cedar City, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. |
