N Marsden Maraden was born bom at Par Parowan Parowan Par owan October 11 1862 the son ot or William and Sarah Barah Scovil Marsden Maraden early pioneers It was in Parowan where he grew to manhood and on January 6 1883 1888 he married Miss Mary Matheson and resided in Parowan Parowan Parowan Paro Paro- wan all aU these years year where he took an active part in the affairs of the com corn insanity In 1898 he labored as a missionary mis for the L L. L D D D. S. S church in the Southern states He then served as first assistant to the Sunday Bunday School at Parowan On Sep 19 1909 he was selected elected as M president of the Parowan Stake and held that position until 1918 1916 when he was honorably Released with a ar vot vote of thanks for his efficient sere ser services vices in that capacity He served as councilman at Parowan for ten years and as mayor for tor tw two years gears He lIe served sere ser ved as a member of the school board for two t years and during the world war was a member of the draft board for Iron county lIe He was manager of ot the Parowan Equitable Cooperative association for a number of years Was one of or the promo promoters tors of the bank at Parowan served as aa its cashier for one year and then was elected as president of that Institution He ser served I ser ved as state senator from Iron county and enjoyed the confidence and respect re re- re reset of everybody who knew him His activities will be missed in this this' section of the state s Mr Marsden is survived by his widow wid wid- ow Mrs Mary M M. Marsden and the following sons and daughters William Marsden Maraden of Parowan Mrs Nellie M. M Durham of Salt Lake Mrs Fl Florence rene M. M Joseph Parowan Mrs Dean M. M Richards Parowan Albert M M. Marsden of Salt Lake Lucius N N. N Marsden Maraden Mrs Glenna M M. Ward Cedar City and Milo 8 S.
