Show Salt Lake Matron Dies, Last Rites Held I Susan Liberia Brazier Mitchell, Salt Lae City, died Saturday, July 8, four days after her 90th birthday. She was the mother of Mrs. Lanell N. Lunt, Cedar City. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Salt Lake City on July 4, 1871. a daughter of George and Susannah Susan-nah God sail Brazier, handcart pioneers. She lived in Salt Lake City all of her life, except for several years the family resided resid-ed In Park City. She married Joseph Jo-seph Mitchell in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Oct. 24, 1894. He died May 7, 1944. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day i-iints, working particularly parti-cularly in the Relef Society of the Sugarhouse, Lincoln, Fourth and 21st Wards. She served as a visiting vis-iting teacher for 50 years and counselor in the presidency of that organization. She was a charter member of the Sugar-house Sugar-house Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers and served for many years as chaplain of the camp. Mrs. Mitchell Is survived by the following sons and daughters: daugh-ters: Robert Mitchell, Beverly Hills, Calif, Mrs. J. B. (Alice) Lil-lywhlte, Lil-lywhlte, Anaheim, Calif.; Mrs. Lanell (Lucy) Lunt, Cedar City; Mrs. Harold R. (Susannah) Heath, Mrs. Maxwell B. (Sarah) Olsen, Miss Elizabeth Mitchell and Mrs. Cecil O. (Janet) Samuelson, all of Salt Lake City. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in the 21st Ward chapel in Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon. after-noon. Burial was in the Salt Lake City cemetery. |
