Show Mrs. Bengta Adams Dies In California Funeral sei vices were lpld In tht Inglewood. California, Ward Chapel Chap-el on January 23rd. for Mrs. Bengta H. Adams, 92, a former Cedar Ci'y resident. Mrs. Adams died on January Jan-uary 20th. following a paralytic stroke. In spite of her years, Mrs. Adams had been quite active until un-til a few days before her death. Mrs. Adams was born in Malmo, Sweden on October 17, 1852. In 1880 she married Jens Nelson. In 1885 Mr. Nelson died and two years later Mrs. Adams and her infant daughter, now "Mrs. S. J. Foster oi Inglewood, migrated to Cedar Citj to be with Mrs. Adams' mother and step father, Peter Froyd. who had come to America at an earlier date. After remaining here for two years she moved to Rockford, II-llonis,, II-llonis,, where she lived with a sister sis-ter for 14 years, then returned to Cedar City to work as a housekeeper housekeep-er for her step-father and two-half-brothers, Alfred and Henry Froyd. On September 20, 1899 she married' John V. Adams, a widower widow-er of Cedar City, the ceremony being be-ing performed in the St. George Temple. Mr. Adams died on April 24, 1919, and Mrs. Adams remained In Cedar Ce-dar City until 1935 when she moved mov-ed to Inglewood In September, to live with her son-in-law and daughter, daugh-ter, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Foster, where she remained until her death. The services were conducted by Bp. John A. Garrlck of the Inglewood Ingle-wood Ward. Talks were given by Daniel E. Matheson, Mrs. Jennie R. Thorley and Samuel F. Leigh, all of Cedar City, and a synopsis of Mrs. Adamb' life was given by Bishop Garrick. Interment was in the Inglewood Park cemetery. |
