Show (Uedding Bells. The marriage of Miss Eloise Sherman Sher-man and George Jay Gibson took place on Wednesday evening at the Sherman Sher-man home. Rt. Rev. Bishop Scanlan performed the ceremony. The home was filled with guests at an elaborate reception from 9 till 11 o'clock, the ceremony having taken place at 8:30 in the presence of the family fam-ily and some close friends. The bridesmaids were Miss Belle Parsons of Washington, D. C, Miss Kate Williams, Miss Anna McCornick and Miss Gertrude McGrath. They wore dainty costumes of white silk mull over taffeta, with trimmings of Valenciennes lace and pink roses. Miss Laura Sherman was the maid of honor. She also was gowned in pink and white, with a wreath of pink rosebuds in her hair. Little Miss Marjorie Howard preceded the bride as flower girl, and very dainty did she look in a gown of white mull with pink ribbons. The bride followed on the arm of her father. She wore a beautiful gown of white chiffon cloth trimmed with rose point lace, and carried a. shower of bride's roses and lilies of the valley. Her one ornament was an exquisite necklace of pearls of Etruscan setting, with three large' pendants of the stones. The necklace Was the gift of the groom's mother, Mrs. Gibson. J. W'olcott Thompson was best man, and the ushers were Lieutenant Roy-den Roy-den E. Beebe, James E. Cosgriff, Roger Sherman and T. Ellis Browne. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Sherman of this city. She is a charming, highly accomplished accom-plished young girl of fine womanly character, and a great favorite in society. so-ciety. 'Mr.' Gibson is a prominent lawyer, whose home was formerly in New York. He numbers his friends by the hundreds, hun-dreds, and is a zealous member of the Knights of Columbus lodge, having held many important offices in the" council. The young couple have gone on their wedding tour and will be at home after Nov. 1. The Intermountain Catholic joins with hosts of friends in extending best wishes for all happiness to Mr. Gibson and winsome bride. |
