J MAGUIRE. , On last Monday at St. Mary's cathedral ca-thedral solemn requiem mass was celebrated cel-ebrated for the late Hugh Maguire of Bingham Canyon, who lost his life in the terrible explosion at Devil's Slide. The celebrant w as the Rev. W. K. Ryan, assisted by Rev. D. Slattery and Rev. T. Brennan as deacon and sub-deacon. Father Ryan spoke in feeling terms of the many good qualities quali-ties which shone in the life of the deceased, dwelling especially upon that quality which is above all qualities qual-ities his devotion to the Catholic Church. To the sorrowing mother and many friends of the deceased the In-termountain In-termountain Catholic tenders its deepest sympathy. FITZPATRICK. On last Tuesday solemn requiem mass was celebrated in St. Mary's cathedral ca-thedral for Michael FItzpatrick, whose death occurred Friday afternoon. The mass was sung by the Rev. W. K. Ryan, assisted by Rev. D. Slattery and Rev. T. Brennan as deacon and sub-deacon. After the mass the Rev. W. K. Ryan spoke in feeling terms of the beautiful life of the deceased, dwelling especially on his probity, simplicity and sterling Catholicity. The music was very impressive. The choir consisted of Mrs. ' Corinne Hammer, Miss Alice Farrell, Mrs. Kathleen FItzpatrick Atkins, Fred C. Graham and A. J. Bruneau. The burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. cemete-ry. The pallbearers were W. K. Kilpatrick, Thomas Naist, Frank Hall, A. D. Lawrence, H. G. Bow-ditch, Bow-ditch, N. H. Henessy, I. W. Ford and Ralph Darling. To the sorrowing family and many friends the Inter-mountain Inter-mountain Catholic tenders its deepest sympathy. |
