Mining Stock Review. The business of the week in the mining share market shows a healthy confidence on the part of investors and speculators in Utah mining ventures. The volume of business transacted on the Stock Exchange is the heaviest of any one week since prior to election, while the total of curb and private sales has been higher. The regularity with which the companies pay dividends is making Utah mining shares a desireable investment, and this fact is becoming a fixed idea among the investors of the East and Middle West. Ajax was decidedly weak in the bid, but was held close after 200 shares had gone at 77 y2 cents. The condition at the mines was never better, and the output will be at the same high rate as in November. Alliance and Annie are without movement. Anchor stands at last weeks figures and did no business. At the meeting of the directors held in Detroit, on the 9th, the old officers were but no action was taken looking to a. resumption of work at the mines. has The active bidding that Bullion-Bec- k enjoyed for three weeks was not interrupted and $7 was continually offered for the stock without bringing it out. The directors will meet today and take action on the Deis Centcnnial-Eurekcember dividend. doing no business, the stock being scarce in the market. Dalton and Lark is not well received and holders do not respond to the low bids recorded. Daly is held at last weeks figures while the bid has advanced 10 cents. Four Aces did active business on the curb but without recording any advance. The stock is in fair demand at present prices. Galena declared its December dividend of 5 cents per share, the same being payable today. The mines continue to produce a high ore, and are said to be grade of silver-leain shape for a much heavier production if such was decided upon. Geyser is not in demand and bids are too low to be attractive to the holders of the stock. The improvements at the mill are completed and it is expected that by January 15th, 100 tons per day vvill be treated. Mammoth is undergoing a reaction and is in demand at slightly better prices. It is generally conceded that the low water mark has been reached, and the desire to secure the stock while it is cheap will cause a steady advance. It sold during the week atSi.42 but was in demand later at 1.45 and held at i. 65. Mercur is in good demand and is doing a heavy business, with prices slightly in advance of last weeks figures. The of the December dividend is due today. Ontario is dead on the market and is doing no business. There is no demand for Sioux Consolidated which is regularly offered at S1.25, while Sunshine is listless; the mill has closed for a time. The trouble that Silver King has been experiencing with its water supply is passed for the present, and the December dividend was paid today. Utah will pass the December dividend, as it did that due in November. The cause is that heavy improvements looking to an increased output are under way at the mines. I11 the nonlisted class South Swansea met the expectations of the past month, and declared its first dividend of $7,500 payable on the 2 1 st inst. The stock made good advances, and eluded the bears who were after it all week. It closed with an advance of 12 y2 cents over the previous week, but was curbed as high as $1.60 and sold on change at $1.45. Buckeye, another Silver City stock, gives signs of being the next favorite. The company is extracting and marketing a fine grade of ore, and it is reported that with the development work only in pro d gress, the mine will be a regular shipper. Northern Light has done a heavy business at prices commencing at 51 and closing at 62 cents. At the close 63 was bid for the stock without success. The Companys mill is not yet completed, but a successful run is anticipated when it is in operation. Under the impulse of active bidding Dalton advanced and sold heavily at 4 5. d stocks closed as follows : The non-liste- ent Tunnel Co. Bullion-Bec- k For Sale. Two 80-I- I.
