Fourteen millions would be a conservative estimate of the amount of diidendspaid by these mines. Mining Stock Review. The week has been one of ups and downs with some of the stocks, and some shares that at the close of the previous week were the hands of the bulls, have retrograded materially. In the high grade investment stocks there is but little comment to offer, some having advanced materially, while others are slightly down. Anchor was not offered at all during the week, nor was it in noticeable demand. No action has been taken looking to a resump- tion of operations at the mines. Ajax remains a sacrifice on the market, in the face of an unprecedented output from the mines. The stock is offered down to So, with bids of jo, a gain of 5 cents in the week. Bullion-Bec- k continues a strong favorite, and is in good demand. The earnings of the property are such that the directors felt warranted in making the December dividend a triple one, 15 cents per share, or 45,000, which will be paid on the 21st. This brings in ! ; total dividends up to 82,240,000, figures which more than twice cancel the capitaliz- ation of the company. Centennial-Eurekt paid its usual monthly dividend of 81 per share on the 15th, since which time the stock has been offered at 865. This company now has dividends to its credit aggregating 8420r 000 more than its original capitalization. Dalton & Lark shows no evidences of strength, the difference between the bids for the stock and the price at which it is offered representing a difference in the valuation of ' he property between buyer and seller, of 55f)ooo. Daly has declined heavily owing t the of the expected dividend. Daly-Wehas held its ground, and records an advance in the bid, while sellers the a ! ; : i non-appearan- ce st are holding easier. Even money is said to be going up that a dividend will be declared before the end of the year. Four Aces remains at about the previous weeks figures, and records no business. January. Dalton failed to maintain the previous weeks prices, and could be had for less than 4 cents. Northern Light also showed weakness and sold S cents below last weeks figures. Sacramento disposed of several blocks, the price ranging from 40 cents. Galena weathered a bear attack, during 41 d stocks closed as follows : which the stock was offered down to 81.35, The and at the close was held at 81.50 with 81.30 bid. Geyser can still be had at $1.25, and gained 15 cents in the bid, being in demand at So. Mammoth has regained a good portion of the ground lost on account of the suspension of dividends, and sold at $i.bo, closing at 81.772 bid. The advance of the stock is due, partially, to a desire to draw it in while it is cheap, and partially to a belief that is without foundation, that at the meeting of the directors on the I9tn, a dividend would be declare . A dividend at the present is nearly an impossibility. Mereur did a small amount of business at $6.65 and closed in demand at $6.75. The usual monthly dividend of 12 cents per share was declared on the 10th, and will be paid on the non-liste- 2 1 st. Ontario is weaker and is without demand. Silver King showed a weak spot during the week, and was offered down to $17.50. It recovered quickly, and at the close was held at $19, but the best bid was 814.50. Sunshine is an offering at $1, with 50 cents as the best bid. In the 11011-liste- d Meetings. Morgan Gold M. M. Co. Stockholders. On Monday, January 4th, 1097, at 3 i. - - 68 South Alain Street. m.
