Show INTER-MOUNTAI- sides, Bear Track, an upper tributary of Moose creek, was among the richest gulches in this basin, and on the hills and mountain sides trending toward Moose creek there have recently been found some remarkably rich gold quartz ledges, among which is the Free Gold quartz ledge, recently incorporated in your city. Geological evidences point out the fact that a heavy erosion has taken place over the mountains adjacent to Moose creek. The gold disintegrated by such a process lodged on the bedrock and gravel of Moose creek and gave it its wealth, some of which, as I have shown, has already been secured. A centurys energetic and profitable work must yet be done before the auriferous gravel deposits subject to the treatment of Moose creek waters will become exhausted. That material which certainly adds very materially to facilitate the workings and enhance the value of any kind of a mining claim, covers the Moose Creek mountains in dense forests of pine, fir and spruce timber, thus making it a most convenient and desirable locality to carry on such work. Two wagon roads converge upon the claim, rendering the delivery of supplies easy and cheap. The present owner, owing to advanced age, has for the past season leased his ground to younger and more vigorous men. It should be in the hands of an active company. MINING REVIEW. The prospectus of the Searchlight Gold Mining company has just been issued, and is noteworthy by reason of its commendable freedom from the extravagant claims usually set forth in literature of this character. The companys property consists of seventy-seve- n acres Immediately adjoining the Sunshine group, and as the latter has miles of underground workings, all in pay ore, which is being milled at a great profit, the Searchlight ground is of great value. The working shaft has reached a depth of sixty feet, and the company announces its intention of continuing development work steadily. The Searchlight company is also entitled to distinction by reason of the prominence and records of the gentlemen comprising it. R. C. Chambers, the president, has been superintendent of the famous Ontario mine from its infancy, and is still its manager. John is manager of Dern, the the Mercur mine, the pioneer in the Camp Floyd district, which has paid $400,000 in dividends and has millions in sight. John J. Daly was the original manager of the Daly mine, and is now the principal owner and manager of mine at Park City. John the Daly-We- st Beck is the president of the Bullion-Bec- k & Champion Mining company, which is paying to its stockholders $25,000 per month. C. W. Miles is a gentleman of extensive experience in gold mining in Australia, New Zealand and California, who has settled in Salt Lake, having become convinced that Mercur is the coming gold camp of the world. Mr. Simon Bamberger, the secretary and manager, was one of the original owners of the Centennial-Eurek- a, and placed the working capistock at $3 per share. This stock tal has since paid $53 per share in dividends, and is now quoted at $65.
