Canines With A Cause FARMINGTON —The Canines With A Cause program will hold its 2014 golf tournament at 8:30 a.m. on August 25 at Oakridge Country Club, 1492 W. Sheppard Lane, Farmington. The program connects veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and welltrained, specialized service dogs that provide emotional therapy. Program officials said by rescuing dogs from kill shelters, and using prison inmates as a means to train, the program essentially saves three lives: the veteran, the dog and the inmate. The tournament begins with a four-person team scramble, shotgun start. It offers prizes for first, second and third place for team, gross and net individual hole prizes and other oncourse contests. The tournament also offers a hole-in-one prize opportunity and chance drawing, as well as a silent and live auction. Ogden ALC Car Show The 8th annual Ogden Air Logistics Complex Car Show will be held July 17 at Centennial Park. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. and will include a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, chips and a drink. Satellite pharmacy grand opening A new Satellite Pharmacy located at the Hill AFB Base Exchange will open for business July 21 and dispense all refills and process all off-base prescriptions including those faxed in from off-base doctors. Refills called in by 5 p.m. will be ready for pick up the following business day at noon. Faxed prescriptions will be ready 24 hours after received at the pharmacy. For more information, email Capt. The 75 FSS/CL is the approving authority for all booster clubs or private organizations. Requests should be routed at least 10-15 days prior to the event. HAFB movie theater reopens SENIOR AIRMAN CHRISTOPHER TAM/U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Elizabeth Bingham, 419th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Hill Air Force Base fuels journeyman, moves a ground clamp attached to a pantograph on June 20 at Nellis AFB in Nevada. A pantograph is utilized for fueling aircraft while the engines are running. Members from the 419th LRS conducted their two-week annual tour along side their counterparts in the 99th LRS at Nellis. and email a link to the Air Force Social Media team at usafvideos@us.af.mil . Donors should plan 60 minutes for the entire process. Base-wide blood drives are held each month and are sponsored by either the American Red Cross or MountainStar. The drives for the rest of the year will occur on the following Fridays: July 25, Aug. 22, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12. Training days designated The 75th Air Base Wing has designated the second Wednesday of each month as a 'Training Day." The training days schedule is Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10. During these training days, the 75th Medical Group, including the Blood Drive planned July 25 A base-wide blood drive will be held from 8:30 a.m.1:30 p.m. July 25 in Bldg. 568 base pharmacy, will be closed. The only Medical Group exception is the Occupational Medicine Services (civilian) Clinic, Bldg. 249. No changes will be made to the appointment process. Other ABW Organizations will be open, but with minimal staff. Customers are recommended to conduct business on other days of each month. Commemoration needs volunteers The Hill AFB Vietnam War Commemoration Committee is soliciting for additional personnel, military or civilian, to be a part of a committee responsible for organizing and executing events honoring Vietnam Veterans. The commemoration is a 13-year congressional initiative developed to thank and honor veterans of the Vietnam War for their service and sacrifice on behalf of DELICIOUS FOOD GOODVIBES LIVE MUSIC the U.S. and to thank and honor the families of these veterans.
