SINGLE PARENT SUPPORT GROUP first Wednesday of each month 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m., Bldg. 308N. Meet other single parents to share experiences and advice. AIRMAN'S ATTIC, in Bldg. 150 is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or for emergencies. Donations of clothing and household items are welcome during open hours. FREE CHILD CARE is available for families who are within 60 days of PCSing to or from Hill AFB. Vouchers for 20 hours of child care (per child) are available from any of the base family daycare providers. Bring a copy of your orders to the Relocation Assistance office at FSC to receive the voucher and a list of participating providers. • OFFICERS1 SPOUSES CLUB OSC AUCTION FOR EDUCATION: Donations of merchandise, handicrafts or services are now being accepted by the Hill Officers' Spouses' Club for their "Red, White and Denim Auction for Education," lo be held today at 5 p.m. at Club Hill. This annual fundraiser is conducted entirely under the direction of the Hill Officers' Spouses' Club, a private organization, and all proceeds benefit the OSC academic scholarship program. Donations must be available for pickup or be mailed by Monday. Contributors will receive a donation letter for their records. OSC SCHOLARSHIPS: The Hill Officers' Spouses Club's 2005 Scholarship Program offers scholarships lo a limited number of dependents of the Hill AFB community, including: graduating high school students who will begin undergraduate college/university study in the fall; students who are currently attending an undergraduate college/university and will return in the fall for continued undergraduate studies: and spouses of active duty, reserve, retired military and Department of Defense members for undergraduate and graduate studies in 2005. Return completed scholarship applications by March 11. ELECTIONS: The Hill Officers' Spouses Club is accepting nominations for the 2005-2006 executive board. The following positions are elected by majority vole: president, first-vice president, second vice-president, recording secretary, corresponding secretary, treasurer and welfare treasurer. The parliamentarian, who serves as chairperson of the nominating committee, and remaining standing committee positions are appointed by the president upon his or her election. Chairmanships include activities, associate spouses, historian, international spouses, member-at-large, membership, programs, publicity, reservations, newsletter editor, scholarships, waysand-means and welcoming. MEMBERSHIP in the Hill Officers' Spouses Club is open to all spouses of active duty officers; spouses residing locally of active duty officers who are currently serving on unaccompanied or remote lours; spouses of Air Force Reserve officers currently serving with the 419th Fighter Wing; spouses of retired officers, international officers and civilian members GS-9 and above; officers' widows or widowers who live near Hill AFB, and any adult relative member of a household, other than spouses, of retired or active officers. Programs and classes available to active duty military members and their families are: • NEW PARENTS SUPPORT PROGRAM: Pre- and post-natal education and support program for new parents, and parents with a child under age 3. • DAD'S 101: For all new fathers, and fathers-to-be. • PREP: Couples relationship enhancement class. • 123 MAGIC PARENTING CLASS: Recommended for parents with children ages 2-4, this class leaches simple and effective parenting techniques. • ANGER MANAGEMENT: Learn to control your anger before it controls you. • TEAM BUILDING WORKSHOP for organizations: Enhances awareness of normal differences between people, reduces interpersonal conflict and stress. • THRIFT SHOP HILL THRIFT SHOP, Bldg. 308, is a great place to shop for anything and everything; sell items on consignment; donate items; or volunteer. Child car seat safety checks, fire safely briefing for newcomers and base employees, fire extinguisher training, fire evacuation drills, fire station tours and home inspections on request.
