This one man's persistence led to the birth of a nation which is nearing Its second century of existence. Since his bold journey in three small ships, man has ventured far. In fact far out might be a better term. He has stood on the moon, and he has sent probes deep into space. In Columbus' time, and in the years before our new space age, alt of this would have been termed impossible. Because of this man's efforts, and those who followed, it is especially appropriate during these bicentennial years that we salute Christopher Columbus for fulfilling a dream.
