A suggestion this year is to make a record for those who must settle your estate. This record should be in addition to a will. Local legal assistance offices provide an annual legal checkup form for this purpose fDD'Fjrm 1543). The form Money includes such personal data as social security number, perBeing a conservative these days is much more than a manent legal residence, date political trend. Conservation Means There are literally thousands of ways of applying conservation methods to our daily routines, and there are plenty of signs around if we only look for them. Many go unnoticed because we've seen them so many times before. Example: "Watch your step." "Put the light out!" "Drive carefully." "Don't let that faucet drip." "Beware high voltage." The list is endless. Every time we save money, we are helping our Government. But, how does a "Watch your step," sign save money? It's easy. A broken leg, arm or hip takes weeks to heal. It also requires hospitalization. You can't work, but the Government still pays you. Your hospital care also costs money. On the brighter side, if you don't get hurt, the money you save in other areas of conservation is a help to the Department of Defense. To stress the point a little if each man and woman in the military services were to save our Government just one cent a day that totals a whopping $12,775,000 anin the current vernacular, "That will buy a nually. And, lot of hay." So, be a conservative, pick up that piece of trash, put that light out, don't smoke in bed, stop that leaky faucet; just contribute your fair share each day to stop waste in any area you can think of. That's not asking too much of AFPS anyone. Dawn of a Decade The curtain has finally fallen on the "soaring sixties." The great feats and failures of the past decade now await judgement in history books. The sixties will probably be described as the years of pioneer space exploration. The decade of the moon landing. Of communications satellites and Mars probes. Of great technological advances. The decade will also be remembered because of the assassinations of a young president and, later, his brother. The murder of a great Civil Rights leader. It has been a decade of turmoil in America. Of Vietnam and urban riots. The sixties will be remembered as a period of history when things really hapiened both great and tragic. It will be a hard show to follow for the new The same discovered. Let us all pray that the seventies will bring great solutions. That pollution problems can be eliminated That domestic turmoil can be dispelled. That population and food production problems will cease. Most of all, let us pray that the seventies will be known as the decade in which a true and lasting peace was accomplished for mankind. One also can list information concerning family protection such as insurance, retired serviceman's family protection plan, military survivor's benefits, retirement benefits, record of emergency data and location of valuable documents. Faulhaber If a child should take a medicine which was not prescribed for him and you know-i- t to be not caustic, induce vomiting immediately. Get medical attention for him as soon as possible. Take a sample of the medicine to the hospital with you. It may help the doctor to prescribe an antidote. Keep medicines and known poisonous substances out of reach of children. Many manufacturers print an antidote for their chemicals on the container lalels. It would be wise to fami'iarize yourself with the antidotes for the various chemicals which you keep in your house. decade. Yet the momentum of the sixties insures that the seventies will bring great events. It is easily predicted that more great accomplishments in space will follow. That the booming technology will produce even greater miracles. But the seds of tragedy are with us as always. Festering domestic problems must be solved, or even greater civil disturbance could occur. Air pollution, overpopulation, starvation and transportation congestion will continue to plague us until solutions can be information listed for other memlers of the family.
