Stephens, now a project engineer with the Aircraft Alighting Support Branch, Materiel Management, was sta. In Utah, after attending Ap- paloosa horse shows, Ric decided to work and save his money so that he could create a beautiful Indian costume and trappings for his horse, "M's Kiowa Squaw." Through his earnings from summer jobs Ric acquired more than $100 which he invested in materials, and with the help of a friend, he worked in his spare time, with leather, fur, metal, and fabric. With leather thongs and thread he patiently labored for three months fashioning the apparel. The costume features a war bonnet, coupe stick of eagle feathers, and an otter skin vest adorned with mirrors and feathers. Ric's three-year-oAppaloosa mare will wear a headdress and a mountain lion skin draped over an Army saddle. A breast collar with beadwork and fringe of bells will comld plete her regalia. Ric is a ninth grader at North Layton Junior High. His sister, Sheree, who is a sixth grader at Hill Elementary School, will ride and show her father's Appaloosa, "Dakota Twilight," at the livestock show. Ric is a member of the Hill club and APR Riding and has participated in various game days and parades during 4-- H "V i When Ric Stephens rides tomorrow night in the "Nez f Perce Indian Costume Class" at the Golden Spike Livestock Show, he will wear an authentic costume he made f tioned in New Mexico. $2,187 auto, auto, tran v 65 FORD radio, power '67 MUSTANG V-- $3,387 Town & Country sta. wgn. like new, full power, air.
