He will be assigned to Aeronautical Ground Equipment. Verla Bramble and husband motored to Seattle where they picked up their son who returned with them to attend Utah State University. Another son who works at Boeing remained in Seattle. Landing Gear personnel welcomed LaRae Haws Parker back to work after an absence of 15 months. Irene Parker, Rosemary Jamison and Dixie Minson said Irene will continue her education toward farewell to a teaching certificate. Rosemary returned to her home state of Texas. William Ray West, personal affairs officer, Military Per- sonnel, was elected Associate Grand Patron of the Utah Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. He was honored at ceremonies at the 63rd annual grand chapter meeting at Masonic Temple, 680 East South Temple. PROUD POP Thornton, an electechnician in Maintenance, is understandably proud of his son, Specialist 5 Melvin Thornton, Jr., who recently received the Silver Star for gallantry in action in Vietnam. Specialist Thornton, an Army enlistee and 1966 graduate of the Army NCO Academy at Ft. for Knox, Ky., volunteered Vietnam duty while a member of the Black Berets stationed in Germany. I lis other decorations for Vietnam service include three Purple Hearts, two Melvin Bronze Stars and two Bronze V's (for "extreme bravery in action").
