Show April 20, 1956 HILL TOP TIMES Code of Conduct Moot Is Sot for Tomorrow r MX Headquarters OOAMA, the 2949th Support Group and the medics from the 2791st USAP Hospital will combine forces this Saturday to hold their monthly Code of Conduct Meeting. The meeting will start promptly at 9 a.m. at the base, theatre. An extra special program has been lined up, according to Lt. 1 Page play for him to sit down to operate the outfit. He estimates there's close to 100 feet of electric i&'t'jn? wire to run the equipment. Permanently Mounted The tracks are mounted permanently in cork and wood. Life-lik- e mountains surround the yard which are made out of plaster and rocks. Scale - sized telephone poles and fences run along the tracks. The area is even covered with tiny rocks and coal for realism. Andy first started his "Project Railroad" about three years ago when he noticed some of the tiny models in a store window. He'went in, examined the intricate cars and just couldn't resist buying some. Thus started a hobby which is so fascinating it takes up a great deal of his time and no small bite out of his paycheck. He figures he's spent close to $500 on his hobby and put in about GOO hours on it. Wife Works in Supply Andy lives in Uintah with his wife, Emma, who works in Warehouse 1M, Supply. Their old son. Glen, has to be content with simply being "watchman" for tne railroad while Dad himself takes over controls as engineer. Andy has had a good model to pattern his railroad after. The Union Pacific runs right in front of his house. The rugged Wasatch range so close at hand has also furnished a good design for the mountains of his display. . Ronald E. Gordon, Hq. OOAMA AdHarmon, projutant. ofDr. Mont J. science at the fessor political Utah State Agricultural College in Logan will be the speaker. The professor will lecture on Communism and then throw the meeting open to questions from the audience. Winding up the program will be a film on the Soviet Union and its people. The movies will show scenes shot behind the Iron Curtain of how Ivan is doing under the Communist regime. It completely fills a 7 by 12 foot room and features six minia ture trains running over 100 feet of track which winds through mountains, bridges, lakes, de pots and trestles. This railroad would put most electric train displays to shame. In the first place, it isn't the electric usual "Christmas-type- " train. It's an "HO scale" model which is about half as large as the regular electric train.
