All stamps bear a serial number . which identifies that license and its purchaser. Stamps with deer tags attached have been changed to a new fibre wet strength paper, which is believed to be much 'more durable than last year's tag. The deer tag this year has a snap type lock for attaching to the game; a new type glue used on the stamps should reduce the chances of their coming free from the permanent visible license. ' All sportsmen applying for any type license must fill out an application blank before they can purchase a license. These applications, showing the serial number for the must be relicense purchased,, turned by the agent to the Fish and Game Department Offices. ' . 1952 Fishing Regulations The general trout season opens on June 14 and closes on October 12. The bass, perch, sunfish and crappie season opens May 10 and closes October 12. Trout may also be kept when taken in any of these . early opening waters. Waters of the high Uintahs open on July 1 and close on October 12. Bag and possession limits on game fish remain at 7 pounds andor one fish yr 12 fish, whichever is caught, first. Catfish limit is 20 fish or 20 pounds, whichever is caught first. Fishing hours for all types of angling remain at 5 a. m. to 9 p. m. Legal size on game fish is seven inches except that the legal size, of Mackinaw trout in Fish Lake is increased to fifteen inches. Fish Lake, Johnson Valley Reservoir and the Seven Miile drainage close on September 14. Strawberry Reservoir will remain open until October 19. This is a brief only of some of the more important parts of the regulations. Our advice is that you secure a copy of the Fishing Proclamation and stay in the clear. Trout Stocking Program The twelve state hatcheries have capacity stocks of trout ready to plant throughout the season. First to go are the keepers, fish seven inches long and larger. Many of these will weigh up to a pound or more. The majority of them will go into waters readily accessible to fishermen. These waters are the hardest fished and are on a 'put and take' basis. primarily It is expected that 2 million or more of the keeper size trout will be planted from the hatcheries this year for a new high In production. Additional hatchery facilities, plus improved feed and feeding methods are important factors in this expected increase. It is also expected that 6 million and 2te million fingerlings will fry be planted this year. Most of these will be distributed later in the season into the high lakes and streams over the state. The annual stocking program is now underway and will continue through the fall months. The program has been retarded this year due -- to the heavy late snows, inaccessibility of many areas and the Most lower streams heavy run-of- f. usually planted before now will not be stocked until these waters level . off. v New Mexico, Dealer . . . and fnifntt now we offer this entire mm STOCK As Low as . . .
