Men who have enlisted in the Regular Army on and after June 1, 1945, in grades lower than those presently provided for, will be immediately promoted to the higher, grade held at the time of discharge. A person entitled - to receive the first instalment of the. payment at the time of discharge for the purpose of immediate enlistment or reen- listment in the Regular Army will, at his election, receive the whole of such payment m one lump sum rather than in instalments. Mustering out payments are now authorized for all enlisted men discharged for immediate Reenlistment alreenlistment. lowances for persons enlisted or reenlisted within 90 days of discharge on or after June 1, 1945, is 50 dollars for each year of completed service, and in computing the service, all continuous active federal service in the AUS or component thereof, whether in enlisted, commissioned, or warrant grades will, if honorably performed subsequent to the payment at the last previous enlistment allowance, be credited. Service will be considered continuous when not interrupted at any one time for over 90 days. Overseas Pay The dependent or dependents of any enlisted men may receive a monthly family allowance during the existence of any war declared by Congress, plus six months, and also during a period of enlistment or reenlistment contracted by such enlisted man prior to July 1, 1946, consequently the longer the term of enlistment the longer the family allowance can be paid. The GI Bill of Rights is extended to anyone who enlists or reenlists within one year after the passage of the act and is entended to cover the individual's first period of enlistment or reenlistment.
