Welcomes ASC Delegates Brig. Gen. Morris Berman, OASC commanding general, extended a personal welcome to supply division delegates from ASC installations throughout the United States who meet here this week. He said: The Ogden Air Service command Is honored to be the host to personnel attending the Fifth Supply Divxlsion conference of the Air Service command. "I. speak for all personnel of the Ogden Air Service command and especially, for the Supply division sin Welcoming all representatives to Hill Field for this series of meetings and discussions." S. L. Air Base Now Under OASCommand Transfer of the Salt Lake Army Air base to the control of the Og den Air Service command, effec tive May 17, was announced today by Brig. Gen. Morris Berman, com general of the OASC manding ' Personnel, both military and ci vilian, now attached to the base, will be transferred from the jurisdiction of the commanding general of the Second Air force to the Air Service command concurrently with the transfer of the base. The Ozden Air Service command will immediately initiate a survey of base facilities, equipment supplies, housing and personnel for report to Patterson Field, Ohio, headquarters of the Air Service command. Gen. Berman said. Invasion Time Set Aside For Prayers - ' Personnel to Gather On' n&ngar Apron In Special Service On the day the allied invasion of western Kurope begins, Hill Field personnel, military and civilian, are asked to gather on the cement apron fronting hangars one and three for a prayer service, part of a nationwide endeavor to be in participated by churches throughout the land. V Chaplain Karl A. Tubesing, OASC chaplain, is in charge of arrangements being made for the gigantic service. He said civilian employes on the day shift will be permitted to leave their jobs at 3:30 p. m. Swing shifters will not have to report to work until 4:30 p. m. Field transportation will be adjusted accordingly. Time of Service The service will commence at 3:45 p. m. and run till 4:15 p. m. Civilians have been notified by their respective divisions. Chaplain Tubesing said all mil will march itary enlisted personnel in troop formation to tne designated place of the service.. The "fall-otime will be determined by the base commander or the unit commander to allow sufficient time to meet the schedule of this service. The committee planning the service consists of representatives from the following divisions and sec tions: Maintenance, supply, person nel and training, base headquar ters, utilities, signal, transportation, guard, provost marshal, army air forces band and special infor mation. Tuesday, the second day of the conference, members will be escorted on an inspection tour of supply activities at this depot. It will be conducted by officers of OASCs Supply Division. Special entertainment for conference visitors has been planned. Sunday evening they will enjoy a barbecue picnic, Monday evening a formal dinner-danc-e at the Hill Field Officers' club and Tuesday, evening a buffet supper at the Officers' club.
