Robey to the rank of General was announced this week following congressional approvalMajor of his nomination for the new rank. General Robey is Commander of the Ogden Air Materiel Area with headquarters at Hill Air Force Base. The newly appointed two-stgeneral arrived at Hill Air Force Base in August of last year and assumed command of the Ogden air depot from Maj. Gen. Manning E. Tillery who retired from active duty. Gen. Robey received an appointment to the United States Military Academy and graduated in 1929 with a degree in Military Science. He entered flying training at Randolph Field, Texas, and was rated an Army Air Corps pilot a year later. His first assignment was with the 72nd Bomb Squadron at Hickam Field, Hawaii.
