Strong, chief of civilian personnel, explained. Authorized strength for Ogden Air Technical Service Command following the planned separa tions will be 4570 civilian em ployes, in addition to military ' personnel assigned to the field. The reduction in force will eliminate approximately 45 per cent of the positions now available at Hill Field, Maj. Strong said. Principal reduction will take place in the maintenance division, which will be decreased by 79 per cent. Supply and headquarters divisions each face a 10 per cent decrease, while personnel and base services will have no appreciable decrease. Col. Wolf emphasized that transfers, reassignments and separations will be made in accordance with established War Department civilian personnel regulations and rules set up by the Civil Service Commission. When field-wicompetitive levels are determined, retention registers will be completed and the individual employes affected will be notified as far in ad- vance of their separation as possible, Major Strong said. Employes are referred to the series on page 6 of. this week's which clarifies some of the principal rules of the Civil Service Commission rules in regards to separation. For further information on the reduction of force procedure, employes may contact their supervisors, employe relations counselors, or placement advisors. If an employe believes there has been an error made in his retention records, he may discuss his case with a special civilfor ian committee appointed this purpose. Additional information on any changes at OATSC will be announced as soon as they are of ficial, Col. Wolf said.
