Approximately 140 members of the 729th ACS "Angry Warriors" returned home from a sixmonth deployment to Southwest Asia. IN THE KNOW t. Col. Darin Humiston, returning 729th Air Control commander, greeted a crowd with short remarks followed by cheers from his "Angry Warriors," on Sunday, July 21. "I am extremely proud of our returning Angry Warriors. I also greatly appreciate the sacrifices of their families. We couldn't have gotten things done without your support, so thank you for that," said their commander. Approximately 140 members of the squadron returned from sites in Southwest Asia and gathered in happy, tangled groups of excitement in the crowd assem- 4TH GENERATION OF AERIAL TARGETS Military Appreciation Night Raptors tickets Hill Air Force Base has recently received free tickets to the Top of Utah Military Affairs/Hill Appreciation Night at Lindquist Field with the Ogden Raptors on Friday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. The Raptors will be playing the Great Falls Voyagers. This is an annual event that is graciously offered to Team Hill by the Top of Utah Military Affairs Committee and the Ogden Raptors organization to show their support for all the members of Team Hill and their families. This great family event and 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs Community Outreach encourages everyone who is available to attend and support the communities who have unwaveringly supported Hill AFB throughout the years. It is suggested and encouraged that each unit or squadron appoint someone to pick up blocks of tickets and distribute them to their unit's members. Tickets can be picked up from Public Affairs in Building 1102, Room 115, between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday Thursday until the event. Join together to show the TOUMAC and the Raptors that Team Hill appreciates their salute. Western Family Campout on Aug. 2 The Western Family Campout at Centennial Park is one of the largest events of the year, attended by active and retired military, DoD/nonappropriated fund civilians, and their families. The event begins at 5 p.m. on Aug. 2 with campers pitching their tents. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., families will enjoy activities including face painting, visits with ranch animals, crafts and live music. Outback Steakhouse has joined with 75th Force Support Squadron to sponsor dinner and will be serving hamburgers, fries and a special dessert. After dinner is a campfire complete with marshmallow roasting, smores, and an outdoor movie. New this year is a special "gold rush" event for the kids. Rob Ferreira hugged his wife, Vania, on the tarmac while his children, Noelle and Jacob, were perched in his arms in a massive family hug. Hagel: Future requires hard decisions, disciplined priorities BY DONNA MILES American Forces Press Service W ASHINGTON — Disciplined priorities and tough choices will be needed to guide the Defense Department's historical transition aimed at maintaining strong, capable and ready forces in the stark postconflict fiscal environment, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said July 22. Speaking at the Veterans of Foreign Wars na- tional convention in Louisville, Ky., Hagel said the changes under way, like those that followed every other major conflict in U.S. history, will have a major impact on the future force.
