Make power cents choices during hot temperatures BY BRYSON TAYLOR 75th Civil Engineer Squadron Energy Engineer intern Hill AFB received a $1 million electric bill from Rocky Mountain Power for energy and demand usage in the month of June. When temperatures and electrical demand are on the rise there becomes a greater need for energy awareness and conservation efforts. Base demand and projected high ambient air temperatures caused Hill to enter a base wide energy alert status "Yellow" the week of July 9. This See POWER I page 6 Save the date! LLOYD U.S. Air Force Ogden ALC becomes a complex AFMC CC sets the stage effort that reduces the command's number of centers from 12 to five. Announced in November 2011, it is a major part of AFMC's response to a congressional challenge to find efficiencies and save tax dollars. By consolidating overhead, the command will improve the way it accomplishes its mission, ultimately providing better support to the warfighter. The restructure will standardize processes and save about $109 million annually. Gen. Janet Wolfenbarger, commander of Air Force Materiel Command, officiated the ceremony. Janet Wolfenbarger laid out her expectations and the command's priorities in a Commander's Call here July 12. The general was on base to officiate the re-designation of the Ogden Air Logistics Center to the Ogden Air Logistics Complex. In expressing her dedication to AFMC, the general said she expected the workforce to be as committed to the mission as she is and emphasized the importance of teamwork to that mission. This is an annual event that is graciously offered to Team Hill by the Top of Utah Military Affairs Committee (TOUMAC) and the Ogden Raptors organization to show their support for all the members of Team Hill and their families.
