Show HILLTOP TIMES NEWS BRIEFS Lend a Hand, Give a Can drive by TH-JFC Airman's Attic has new hours of operation Update Your Virtual Emergency Data The Virtual Record of Emergency Data (vRED), or Department of Defense Form 93 (DD Form 93), is probably the most important document in a military record. The vRED provides information on a member's primary next-of-kin (NON, secondary NOK, and other persons to notify in case of death, injury or emergency. Frequently, notification of NOK is delayed because of outdated or missing information on the vRED. vRED is the official document required by law for designating beneficiaries for death gratuity payment, unpaid pay and allowances and the person authorized direct disposition of your remains. Legal Office appointments now needed for assistance Please note that the Base Legal Office (OO-ALC/JA) will be going to an appointment system for legal assistance. Staff will no longer be seeing legal assistance clients on a walk-in basis. The office has begun the process of setting up appointments. Will executions will be held on Fridays by appointment only. Please contact Brindy Starks at the Legal Office at 801-777-6626 to make your appointment. It is hoped the new appointment system will cut down on the time clients wait to see attorneys and will allow more flexibility for clients to schedule appointments convenient for their schedules. VOSLER Phase 2 of clinic parking lot paving also on schedule The 75th Civil Engineer Squadron has contracted a paving project to repave the Clinic Parking Lots in five phases (south of Balmer Street). Phase 2 of this effort is scheduled Oct. 6 -18, weather permitting. On approximately Oct. 6, the clinic parking area southeast of and near Building 570 and horseshoe driveway, will be closed for repaving. Traffic will be detoured to other parking areas. Accessibility and crosswalks will be maintained as deemed safe around construction equipment. Motorists will not be able to travel where posted or deemed unsafe due to construction. Phase 2 will not start until the first phase is complete. Alternate parking areas are northeast, far southeast and west of the clinic. Whenever parking areas are blocked (for example southeast of and near Building 570), alternate handicap parking will be marked and provided as near the building as possible. Others need to use alternate parking areas near the clinic and plan for the added time in advance. The Food Drive's sponsor, the Team Hill Junior Force Council (TH-JFC), is proud to announce that all of the wings and tenant organizations on base are participating in this event to help fight hunger throughout our local community. If your work center does not have a food donation barrel, please step up and volunteer to start a food collection site. All others should promote, advertise and feel the enthusiasm of participation with this worthy effort to help others in need. This will also affect the parking area south of America First Credit Union to install new concrete vaults and new steam and condensate piping. Starting approximately Oct. 14 and continuing through Oct. 22, Southgate Avenue will be reduced to two lanes. Excavation will begin on the east side lanes and then switch over to the west side lanes. As soon as roadwork is completed excavation will resume to the west which will affect the parking area south of America First Credit Union which will be closed Oct. 14-28.
