Show HILL TOP TIMES September 28, 1973 A Individuals employed on Hill AFB are encouraged not to bring personal items which resemble government property onto the base. Personnel entering Hill AFB are warned by signs posted at entrance gates they are entering a military reservation and are subject to search. However, base authorities do not tell anyone what tools they can carry in their privately owned motor vehicle.. If tools found in a car are suspected of being government property, the tools are retained by the Security Police and an investigation is initiated. If there is a lack of proof that the tools are government property, they will be returned by the police to the rightful owenr. While we understand that this procedure has caused inconvenience to personnel in the past, it has also proven very effective in recovering many dollars worth of government tools and other properties. Someone from another base said they get flu shots at no cost, but we pay a dollar for ours. I would like to know what the dollar is used for. If employees at another base get theirs free, why do we have to pay? Q A I Q A Can you tell me the qualifications for a Computer Aid, and GS-5- ? processing, accounting, business administration, statistics, or other pertinent or related fields. Sliding doors, when adjusted properly, are almost impossible to open when the lock is set. Due to high use of the doors, the rollers and latch should be readjusted periodically. This can be accomplished by calling Housing Maintenance, extension 3457. In response to your call a check was made on your doors and the locking device was found to be effective. Freedom letters study was conducted concerning recycling of paper generated at Hill AFB. At present. There is no way the sliding glass doors in the rear of the houses can be secured by the common practice of putting a piece of wood in the running slot so the door can't be opened. I feel some way should be A would like to know why motorcycles cannot park in the dead space in front of the BX. The "dead space" in front of the BX is an emergency lane for fire engines and ambulances as well as being a through street. Also, it would create serious traffic hazards to turning vehicles. I Why can't paper that has been used, old publications, T.O.s, etc, be recycled and used again in view of the shortage of paper? IS there are no facilities for recycling paper in the local area ; the nearest recycling plant is located in Denver, Colo. Obsolete publications and forms generated at the Publications and Forms Distribution Section are sold to a paper salvage contractor by Redistribution and Marketing. The Civilian Welfare Fund Council has undertaken a public service project to provide a flu immunization program for base civilian employees. This is a strictly voluntary service provided to civilians who desire to get flu shots on base for their personal benefit. Free flu shots can only be provided to civilian employees when a determination is made that influenza will reach epidemic proportions in this area. The Base Hospital Commander, in cooperation with the Utah State Department of Public Health and the United States Health Service, makes this determination. The Civilian Welfare Fund program supports the Public Health Program by making flu shots available at near cost during years when flu shots cannot be provided by the Base Hospital.
