Pumose of his trio. General Smith said, was to become ac quainted with the Utah units under his command. During his inspection, General Smith commended Captain Homer Q. Stevens, Commander of the 2346th RFC at Hill AFB, and Lt. Colonel Benton Clay, commander of the 313th Troop Carrier Squad ron (Reserve), . which is part of the 2346th Reserve Flying Center. Only flying Air Force Reserve Unit in Utah, the 313th was conunit verted from a fighter-bombto a Troop Carrier Squadron on Sept. 1. The speed with which the unit reached operational capability as a troop carrier and cargo unit is commendable, General Smith said. Although the 313th is using Hill AFB hangar facilities at the pres ent time for repair and maintenance of aircraft, General Smith indicated that the 313th would have their own facilities soon, including a new million dollar hangar at Hill AtB. This' would provide more openings in the enlisted ranks for administrative and flying jobs. After inspecting 313th facilities at the base and a transport in the hangar, General Smith depart ed for Salt Lake City for further inspection of Air Force Reserve Units. A reporter, in passing, asked one of our very loyal and effective employees if she would like an article in the paper relative to her having service award. She very graciously refused just received her ten-yemuch to the reporter's surprise. The reason? Simply that she felt that there were so many other people whose accomplishments needed publicizing so much more than hers. In other words, she gave us the lesson that if one does not care who gets the credit, the job will always get done in a superior man ner. We were proud to be party to a lesson in humanities.
