This is just one of the 15 classes which are taught at Hill AFB immediately after working hours. All civilian and military personnel are eligible to attend them. Registration is next week. I More Classes Will Be Taught At Hill AFB After Duty Hours A short story writing contest for all military personnel stationed at Hill Am was announced today by dith H. uudmundsen, base librar ian. All military personnel, regard- ess of rank, are eligible to enter the contest, Mrs. Gudmundsen stated. Prizes of $15, $10. and $5 are ex pected to be awarded for the three best stories at this base. These stories will be forwarded to the Air Materiel Command headauar- ters to compete for AMC prizes of ipiuu, qo ana $go. Ihe pick of the AMC cron of stories will next be entered in the USAF contest where they'll nave a chance ot winning top money ot $300, $200, and $100. iudging will be in late 1956 for ;he best USAF stories. Winnine entries then will be offered for publication to nationally known magazines at standard rates. Following are the rules outlined by the base librarian. Stories must not exceed 6,000 words. Each manu script will be typewritten on 8xl0! inch paper, double spaced. Manuscripts must be surely fast ened and covered with a protective paper and be accompanied by an attached entry blank. Stories will be judged on origin- ality, freshness of approach, andliterary style. There is no limitation on subject material other than the manuscript be iree 01 libel.
