Hi Local Ballplayer Signs Up With To Winning General's Cup N. Y. The 4677th Radar Evaluation Flight took a sten closer to winnintr the general's cup championship for intramural sports this week after winning single honors in badminton. The victory pushed the Radar men 15 points out in front of the 764th Bomb Squadron, with only part remaining on the 1954 sports agenda. Victory is almost assured. Radars surprising dominance in intramural sports must be credited to a very enthusiastic commanding officer, Major James A. Gerwick and First Sgt. Leo Chavarie, according to Joe Hess, Athletic Director. These sports minded men have stimulated much interest in their organization by backing the base sports program to the maximum and have undoubtedly developed a high degree of leadership, sports manship and morale in their personnel, he said.
