The Air Force recently made a change in its policy, so that men moving to overseas assignments will know their specific area or country of assignment before leaving their ZI base.-Thi- s will enable COs, in some cases, to match overseas assignments against some airmen's choice of duty stations. The change also calls for sharp cuts in waiting periods at personnel processing centers and will result in dollar savings lor both the Service and individual airman This, the AF hopes, will eliminate the present average 10 days of 'ineffective time" awaiting ship mept at ports of embarkation. The new policy will inform airmen about six weeks in advance where they will perform overseas duty, and in most cases will let them know the length of time they will be required to serve there. Thus, they can make necessary arrangements for their dependents, home, automobiles, etc. ease-u- p (engine assy branch), girl, born May 10.
