CARTER "Boxing is a great game; I've never been hurt at it," says one of Hill Air Force' Base's sergeants, John E. Carter, Food Service profesSquadron. The sional boxer has been at the game since he was 17. During those nine years he has fought 37 times and won 19 of them. 'Sgt. Carter, who hails from Utica, New York, has fought all over the country: Madison Square Garden, Conventional Hall in Philadelphia, Coney Island and Kansas City, Missouri. Sgt. Carter, who was the boxing coach for the 25th Air Depot Wing when at Kelly Field, Texas, is in terested in organizing a boxing team for the airmen at Hill. Almost any afternoon Sgt. Carter can be found in the base gym work ing out with one of the boys where he shows them a few fine points in the art of fisticuffs. "On July 5," says the boxer, "I'm going to fight in Salt Lake City at the fair grounds." The bouts will be televised by one of the local television stations. The fight Sgt. K-O.'- Seventeen enthusiastic officers and airmen turned out at a golf meeting held in the base gym nasium earlier this week to discuss organizing a team to play in a league sponsored by the military installations in this area. The first league play will be with the Western Chemical Center from Tooele at Bonneville Golf Course in Salt Lake City on June 8th.' Once league play starts, the four low golfers on the Hill AFB team Air will go to Wright-Patterso- n Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, on July 9 through 15 to participate in the Air Materiel Command golf tourna ment.
