Strong, chief of civilian personnel, announced Tuesday. The registers are used in determining which employes will be retained and which separated under the reduction of force ordered for OATSC. A retention register is a listing of employes grouped according to the order of preference or retention, Major Strong explained. A retention Command Is Reorganized As Of Sept. 1 In with register is established in this manner: All employes holding positions of the same grades with duties similar to the positions abolished are listed on the retention register according to their type of appointment, Civil Service status, efficiency ratand ing, veterans preference, length of service. These factors determine which employes are to be retained and which are io be separated. The first persons to be separated from Hill Field will likely be notified in a week. This notification will be in the form of an official letter.
