V-- J Day At this time of our great victory, I join with all of you in expressing pur heartfelt joy and satisfaction over the defeat of our enemies.' This day will; long be remembered in world history as the end of the most destructive war on earth and the beginning of a new era of peace and security for all mankind.- We of Hill Field have cause to be proud of our record in this fight against tyranny. Ours was a vital mission the task of helping the Army Air, Force in carrying the spearhead of the attack to the very heart of our enemies throughout the world. I personally want to express my appreciation to every member of this command for the undying efforts, sacrifices, and devotion to duty which have helped make our accomplishments possible. I commend the military personnel for their achievements in filling their responsibilities to duty. Also, I wish to pay tribute to civilian employes for their cooperation, loyalty, and sincerity in their work as members of a great and smooth-functioniteam. If it had not been for this teamwork, this unity of purpose, we could not have carried out our assigned mission. The coming months will provide new and different problems for all of us at Hill Field. Much work is in store in aiding the gigantic task of the Army Air Force in properly and economically storing, disposing, and reclaiming Air Force; property and otherwise protecting the taxpayer during the reconversion period. We, as part of the AAF, have a tremendously important assignment in helping maintain a permanent peace. It is my intention to keep you all informed to the greatest extent possible of our future activities at Hill Field in order that everyone may know and plan for the problems ng . ahead. This is a day of happiness. It means the end for all time, we hope of man killing man in war. This day should also be one of solemn contemplation of the cost of our past achievements and of our future aims. Our victory has been achieved through the grace of God, and to Him we offer our prayers and humble thanksgiving. -- Colonel, Air Corps, Commanding, Ogden Air Technical Service Command the families Of uaie Jensen, Lit.
